Supervisor of Coaches and Kicking Instructor
John has years of coaching experience including Head Soccer Coach and several high schools and teaching the fundamentals of kicking and punting. John has a Master’s Degree in Education and is one of our finest teachers. John grew up in Tampa playing soccer at Temple Terrace Spirit and later Jesuit High School where he was a part of three state championship teams. He began volunteering with the Muscular Dystrophy Association summer camps and continued as a counselor for ten years.
He attended the University of Florida in 1998, playing and coaching for the Men’s Club team. While enrolled in the pre-med honors program he volunteered at Shands Hospital as a child life specialist, and later worked in their lab assisting research on gene therapy. After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Microbiology and a master’s in Secondary Science Education he began teaching high school and coaching both high school and youth level soccer. John teaches chemistry at Plant High School and is the Head Soccer Coach starting in the fall of 2012.
