CJ Stockel coached high school football in the state of Georgia from 1985 through 2012. Coach Stockel’s main focus was on Strength and Conditioning and Special Teams. He was Special Teams coordinator and Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Model HS, South Effingham HS, Woodward Academy and Flowery Branch HS. Coach Stockel was raised in Tucker, Georgia where he attended Henderson High School. He played Junior College Baseball at Dekalb College North Campus in 1980. In 1999 and 2004 he was honored with Developmental Coach of the year honors from USA Weightlifting. American Football Monthly selected him Strength Coach of the Year in 2004. Today he is currently the Chairman of the Board with USA Weightlifting. Coach Stockel has two daughters Madison (22) and Hope (20) and has been married to Meleisa Amason for 27 years.


CJ Stockel graduated from the University of Georgia in 1985 with a BS in Education. He attained his Masters in Education at Jacksonville State University in 1994. Coach Stockel is a Senior International Coach with USA Weightlifting.

Coaching Topics

Coach Stockel primary focus was on coaching the kickers, punters and snappers and is known as a Premier Specialist in the kicking game. While at Flowery Branch, Coach Stockel was a coach and facilitator of Kohl’s Kicking Camps and SE Show case from 2009 through 2012. While at Flowery Branch (2006-20012) the Falcons had several of his players named to All State Teams and were ranked nationally. 2008 Billy Thompson PK, GACA AAA 1st Team All State 2009 Red Shirt Jacksonville State, AL; 2009 Will Monday P, AJC AAA 1st Team All State, AP Honorable Mention; 2010 Will Monday P, Kohls Kicking #1 ranked in the USA, AAAA AJC 1st Team All State, AP 1st Team All State currently plays at Duke University, 2012 Redshirt Freshman 1st Team All ACC 2012– Leo Manzo PK, Kohl’s Kicking 15th in the USA, Livingstone College, 2014 ranked #10 in Division II punting.
